Vel OS

Track your volunteer impact, clearly.

Vel OS helps small nonprofits log events, measure what matters to them, set goals and share their impact. Each nonprofit chooses its own measures and decides what, if anything, to share publicly.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Set up your nonprofit

Name it and choose what you'll measure: pounds of trash, meals served, trees planted or your own measures.

  2. Step 2: Log your events

After each event, record the date, place and results. Invite your team so they can log events too.

  3. Step 3: Share your impact

See totals, charts and goals on your dashboard, and turn on a public page when you're ready.

What you get

Everything a small team needs to keep track of its work, without spreadsheets.

  • Your own measures

Start from common metrics or add your own, in any unit. Blank fields are never counted as zero.

  • Quick event logging

Date, location and a value for each measure. Add photos and keep private notes for your team.

  • Goals and honest estimates

Progress bars for every goal. Projected dates appear after three events and are always labeled as estimates.

  • Event map

Type an address or drop a pin by hand. Every located event shows up on your map.

  • Volunteer sign-ups

Upcoming events take sign-ups on your public page. Visitors see a count; only your team sees names and emails.

  • A public page you control

Off until you turn it on. Share totals, charts, goals and only the photos you choose.

Your dashboard

Totals for each measure, trends by week or month, a comparison of your events, and progress toward your goals. Projections are drawn dashed and labeled, so an estimate never looks like a fact.

Works for any measure and any unit.

Illustration only. Your dashboard fills in from the events you log.

Combined impact

Logged by nonprofits that have made their impact page public. Only completed events count, and only shared measures (like pounds of trash) are added together across organizations.
